Guests here can enjoy unique game drives in the Selenkay Conservancy as well as in Amboseli National Park, Kenya. There is a diversity of species in this area. Elephant, Lion, Cheetah, Giraffe and Zebra can be seen amongst less common species namely Caracal, African Wildcat, Civet, Gerenuk, Lesser Kudu and Striped Hyena.

This private conservancy, adjacent to the Amboseli National Park, Kenya is a 15 000 acre reserve for wildlife which has been set aside for this purpose by the local Maasai community. The community derives income from tourism activities which provide employment and funds for various community projects, such as schooling and water supplies.

The wildlife in Selenkay is truly wild. Tourism has only just been introduced, so the animals tend to act in a more natural way than in parks where they are accustomed to vehicles coming and going. Tourist numbers are limited in this reserve and the camp management maintains an environmental policy with regard to water, land, energy, sewage and solid waste.

Amboseli Porini Camp is situated 161 kilometres (100 miles) from Nairobi on the Mombasa Road. The road is tarred and the drive takes about 3 hours. The camp has a daily, free road transfer in a mini-bus from Nairobi. Free transfers are also offered from Amboseli airstrip where daily flights arrive from Nairobi.
