Uniquely beautiful, this camp is a celebration of tented style influenced by the nomadic tribes art and culture. Light and airy under crisp canvas, the camp is a reminder of Joy Adamson and her amazing life, being set on the original site of her Shaba National Reserve camp.
At Joys Camp on a Kenyan game lodge safari, guests are accommodated in 10 sophisticated and spacious tented suites which are raised off the ground to give wonderful views of the terrain.
A Bush breakfast next to the Ewaso Nyiro River and Gorge is a must. At night the camp is lit up with many beautiful lanterns - an illuminated oasis under the Acacia trees. Guests can enjoy exciting game drives and guided bush walks in the Shaba National Reserve.
Joy's Camp is situated overlooking a large natural spring where many animals come to quench their thirst including Lion, Elephant and Buffalo amongst other rare desert species such as the Beisa Oryx.
For a quiet time spent on a sun lounger, the lovely rimless pool and its attractive setting beckons to world weary travellers; massage therapy is also available. At the end of the day, guests can relax over sundowners before savouring traditional North Italian cuisine from the family cook book.
Joys Camp is closed during the month of May.
