For guests here on an Amboseli safari in Kenya, daily life is simple and unhurried, all the better to really experience the peace, crystal clean air and brilliant night skies. Game drives take visitors into the realm of the mighty Amboseli Elephant.

Far from the trappings of tourism and the buildings of a Kenya lodge, Ol Kanjau Tented Safari Camp in Amboseli has 6 spacious en-suite tents. The guest areas include a library where visitors can relax in between activities. Picnics and bush dinners can be enjoyed in various settings.

In Maasai, Ol Kanjau means Elephant. The hosts of this camp have lived in Kenya since 1968 pursuing ecological studies on the interaction between the wildlife, the Maasai and their livestock.

The hosts of Ol Kanjau place their focus on the lives and behaviour of African Elephant; these mammals are fascinating and so very smart - using an impressive skill set to survive in the trying times of a world driven by human growth.

The Amboseli is Kenya’s richest African Savannah Ecosystem. It is also home to the Maasai and their livestock. Ol Kanjau is based on land owned by the Kisongo Maasai pastoralists and they benefit directly from ecotourism to the camp.

There are varied activities for guests to choose from. Bird watchers will have plenty to see on foot with an expert field scout or whilst mountain biking in the bush. Game drives are conducted by knowledgeable guides.
